Can sparkling water cause bloating?

This is where water genuinely can add to the problem. Sparkling water, soda water and other carbonated drinks are full of dissolved carbon dioxide. Do TDS, RO and mineral myths cause bloating?

Few topics worry Indian homes more than TDS, or total dissolved solids, the measure of dissolved minerals like calcium, magnesium and sodium in water. TDS reflects mineral content and taste, not how your gut will react. Very high TDS water can taste salty and occasionally loosen stools in people unused to it, but within normal limits it is not a common cause of ongoing bloating.

Reverse osmosis (RO) filters remove contaminants and some minerals with them, which fuels the claim that RO water starves you of nutrients or harms your gut bacteria. The reassuring reality is that most of the minerals your body uses come from food, not water. Does alkaline water reduce bloating?
