Cookie categories
Essential cookies are needed for login, cart, checkout, security, and market routing. Preference cookies remember choices such as region or consent. Analytics cookies help us understand page performance and user journeys. Marketing cookies measure campaigns and help avoid showing you irrelevant messages.
Non-essential cookies load only after the cookie strip has recorded your choice. The strip treats no response after a short wait as acceptance, and you can decline or change your choice at any time from the Manage cookies link in the footer.
Essential cookies (always set, first party)
- aora_session: keeps you signed in to your Aora account. 14 days, refreshed while you use the site.
- aora_consent_v1: records your cookie choice so we do not ask again. 12 months.
- aora_market: remembers the store market (India or United States) you are shopping in. 1 year.
- aora_geo_country: the country we detected for routing payments and market, so it is not re-detected on every page. Short lived.
- aora-hold-sid: identifies your bag so units you add are reserved for you for a few minutes at checkout. 30 days.
- aora_ref: the referral code you arrived with, so the person who referred you is credited if you buy. 30 days.
- aora_early, aora_welcomed, aora_market_hint_dismissed, aora_minor: remember a message or check you have already seen so it is not shown again.
- crew_session, aora_crew_stepup, aora_creator: sign-in cookies for Aora staff and for creators, set only when those people sign in.
Analytics cookies (first party, after consent)
- aora_vid: a random identifier for your browser, so we can tell a returning visit from a new one without knowing who you are. About 13 months.
- aora_sid: a random identifier for the current visit, so pages viewed in one sitting can be understood together. 30 minutes, refreshed on each page.
- aora_attr and aora_attr_last: the campaign, source and medium you arrived from, so we can tell which of our advertising brought you here. 90 days.
- Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*): page and event measurement by Google. Up to 2 years. Third party.
- Microsoft Clarity (_clck, _clsk): anonymised session recordings and heatmaps, with personal fields masked. Up to 12 months. Third party.
Marketing cookies (third party, after consent)
- Meta (_fbp, _fbc): measures whether an Aora advert on Facebook or Instagram led to a visit or a purchase. Up to 90 days.
- Google Ads and DoubleClick (_gcl_*, IDE): measures Google advertising conversions. Up to 90 days.
- LinkedIn (li_*, lidc): measures LinkedIn advertising, set only when a LinkedIn campaign is running.
Declining marketing cookies stops these being set. Some measurement of a purchase may still be sent to those platforms from our own server with reduced identifiers; the privacy policy describes what is sent.
Your choices
You can change your cookie choice at any time from the Manage cookies link in the footer, and manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may break the cart, checkout, your account, or security features. Declining analytics or marketing cookies does not affect what you can buy.
